Penn State basketball commit reopens recruitment
Penn State basketball signee Jamison White was set to join the team this summer, but now he has reopened his recruitment.
Penn State’s men’s basketball team has had some success in the transfer portal in recent weeks, but they just received a big blow to their future. They only had one high school signee for the Class of 2026, forward Jamison White, and he just reopened his recruitment . He signed with the Nittany Lions back in November, and now he’ll be looking for a new team just a few months later.
He only has offers from four schools and it is unclear if he’ll be picking from that pool or if he’s hoping to pick up some more offers in the coming weeks. Regardless, this loss stings for a Penn State team that has already lost a ton of young talent to the transfer portal this offseason. Coach Mike Rhodes spoke about wanting to make the team a little older and more experienced, but he probably didn’t want that to come at the expense of his team’s future.
It isn’t the end of the world, as the team will have plenty of opportunities to acquire young talent going forward. But they need to start doing it soon in order to bring in players with potential instead of ones who have clear ceilings. Follow Nittany Lions Wire on X and Facebook .
