Jay Johnson praises Casan Evans after LSU baseball loss to Texas A&M
LSU baseball lost on Friday night with a shaky performance from Casan Evans, but Jay Johnson had good things to say.
LSU baseball suffered another tough loss on Friday. This time, it fell to No. 10 Texas A&M 10-4 on Friday in Baton Rouge.
LSU would go on to lose Saturday again, officially dropping the series. Right-handed pitcher Casan Evans started on the bump against the Aggies and pitched well in the early goings in Game 1. Things unraveled in the fifth inning and he suffered his second loss of the year but head coach Jay Johnson remains encouraged by the sophomore.
"I thought the stuff was good," Johnson said. "We have guys that have thrown way less innings whose stuff is down. His is not, because he does the right thing.
He'll do the right thing tomorrow, leading up to next week's performance. I saw 95 or 96 in the first inning. " Evans held the Aggies to one run over the first four innings.
