LSU gymnastics looked to win another national championship on Saturday afternoon, but the Tigers came up short despite a late lead.
LSU gymnastics held a lead heading into the final rotation of Saturday's national championship but ultimately fell short. Oklahoma claimed its second-straight title with a 198. 1625 final score and the Tigers came in second at 198.
0750. Kailin Chio scored a perfect 10 on vault during the second rotation and Konnor McClain hit 9. 95 on bars during the third rotation, getting LSU into first place with a 49.
6125 total score. The Sooners went into the final rotation in second. The Tigers ended the afternoon on beam.
A fall by Lexi Zeiss put them behind and the Sooners capitalized. Faith Torrez scored a 9. 95 on floor to seal the victory for Oklahoma.
