Although the Denver Broncos may not have a first round pick in the 2026 NFL draft, they find themselves in a better position than many other teams with a first round pick. In an article for CBS, Josh Edwards named the Broncos as the team in the best position to do well after not having a first-round pick. After talking about the Broncos coming out of the 2025 season after appearing in the AFC Championship game, Edwards spoke about the outlook going into 2026.
"Sean Payton's team sum has been greater than the sum of its parts," Edwards wrote for CBS . "There is no reason to believe that is going to change. The roster is not perfect and there are pitfalls, specifically injuries, which could derail the season, but that could be true of any team.
" Although there may be imperfections and thin spots in the Denver roster, the Broncos have seven picks and undrafted free agents who could make a difference in how they shape their roster. 2026 feels like a pivotal year for the Broncos. There's no bones about it: after their deep playoff run in 2025, the Broncos are primed for a championship-style run in the coming year.
