Notre Dame QB CJ Carr dominates inter-squad scrimmage on Saturday
Notre Dame football’s second-year starting quarterback CJ Carr is looking like he’s taking a massive step ahead of the 2026 season.
With Notre Dame football’s spring coming to an end next weekend, Saturday was a great opportunity to let the bullets fly and quarterback CJ Carr did exactly that . The Irish held a scrimmage on Saturday, with many former players in attendance , and the second-year starter did not disappoint. According to Pete Sampson of The Athletic , Carr seemingly knew what play was coming and executed like he did.
Sampson said “it looked like he broke into the office of Chris Ash last night, copied the call sheet and knew all the defensive plays before they were run. ” This is exactly that progression that should get Notre Dame fans excited. Carr is coming off a very impressive redshirt freshman season, one that caught the attention of many, including NFL front offices.
There is already chatter that he could go extremely early in the 2027 draft if he was the declare. The Michigan native showed the country that he’s one of the best players in all of college football, and to think that he could be even better this fall is a scary thought for Notre Dame opponents. Here’s the thing about CJ Carr‘s performance in the scrimmage.
