Yahoo Sports

MotoAmerica rider PJ Jacobsen suffered a massive crash on his Ducati Panigale V4 R during Superbike Qualifying at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. He has been declared unfit to race for now. A video of the incident has been posted by MotoAmerica on Instagram, showing the crash after Jacobsen rode over the kerb at the right-hander, upsetting his Panigale.

The motorcycle lost traction momentarily before recovering and bouncing aggressively as Jacobsen entered a left-hander. The Rahal Ducati rider wrestled with the motorcycle, nearly high-siding at one point. However, the Panigale then low-sided, causing Jacobsen to fall headfirst before being dragged across the track for a few meters.

Jacobsen appeared to raise his head after coming to a stop, but it clearly looked like he had endured a hard hit and was in urgent need of medical attention. Footage revealed that he was taken to the infield medical center. One positive sign was that Jacobsen was conscious while being taken on a stretcher.
