Former Wisconsin offensive lineman praises new program's culture

Former Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Brunner had high praise for his new program, Indiana, when meeting with the media earlier this week. โ€œThis is one of the best cultures in college football, if not the best," Brunner said . โ€œThat makes it super easy to transition.

You're around a bunch of guys who have played a lot of football. They know how to welcome guys with open arms and how to bring them into a culture and let them develop themselves. โ€ Brunner transferred to Indiana this offseason after four years with the Badgers .

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native first joined the program as a four-star recruit in the class of 2022. After two years of mostly reserve action, Brunner started 24 games as a redshirt sophomore and junior in 2024 and 2025, respectively. He was one of Wisconsin's best linemen during that span, stabilizing a unit that mostly struggled during the transition both to and from Phil Longo's air raid offense.

He now joins an Indiana program that is fresh off a national title run. The veteran projects as its starting left guard, the position where he's spent the bulk of his collegiate career. Indiana's ascendance under coach Curt Cignetti is nothing short of incredible.

Its culture, including at offensive line under coach Bob Bostad, is of note when analyzing Brunner's transfer decision.
