Instead, Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham has to wait until the second round (pick No. 48 overall) to make his first official pick.
Atlanta has needs on both sides of the ball, but the defense arguably needs the most work before the 2026 NFL season rolls around in a few months. With just five total selections, the Falcons can't afford to reach for any specific needs and should target the best player available regardless of position.
