Having been an unused substitute in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford, Garnacho faced his former club for the first time on Saturday evening. Alejandro Garnacho not good enough to start for Chelsea Garancho was named on the bench against United, but came on in the first half after Estevao went off with a hamstring injury. However, Garnacho had another difficult evening, and really struggled to get the better of Diogo Dalot and United’s makeshift backline.
The 21-year-old old gave the ball away on countless occasions, and it was a night to forget for him and his team-mates. It’s been reported Chelsea are prepared to sell Garnacho, and Robinson thinks his latest performance showed he’s not good enough to start regularly for the club. “That he’s not good enough to be a regular starter for Chelsea and Manchester United may have done some good business,” he told Stadium Astro.
“I think the season that he left Manchester United, I was surprised that they let him go because you look at his stats that season at Manchester United, he was their most creative player. “You look at the goals he scored, the assists that he got, but somebody saw something at Manchester United that we saw tonight. “He was supposed to be a game changer off the bench, obviously not that early on in the game, but for me, he runs down dead ends too many times.
“He gets the ball and immediately his head’s down and he’s gone. He’s very, very one-dimensional in the way that he attacks. Yes, he’s an attacking threat, but he’s quite easy to defend against.
