Harry Langer/dpa VfB Stuttgart are not in a rush to agree on a potential contract extension with forward Deniz Undav. "We're in regular contact with Deniz and his management.

Currently, however, our focus is on the end of the season," Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle told the Bild newspaper in an interview. He added that the two parties would "intensify the constructive discussions after the season. " Undav's current deal runs until mid-2027 and both club and player want to keep working together.

However, according to several media reports, Stuttgart would have to make significant concessions regarding his salary. "Deniz has a very good scoring quota and is a crucial factor for us. He's a very important player for us both on and off the pitch," Wehrle praised.

Undav has scored 23 goals for Stuttgart in all competitions this season and is a fan favourite. Wehrle also praised Sebastian Hoeness as "an amazing coach" and isn't expecting him to leave anytime soon. "He also feels very comfortable here and knows what he has at Stuttgart.
