Blake Montgomery was one of the many Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey players to have signed an entry-level NHL contract . Montgomery reported to the Edmonton Oilers AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, as he's on an Amateur Tryout Agreement contract through the rest of this season.

The former Badgers freshman forward found the back of the net for his first AHL goal on April 17. Head coach Mark Johnson would've loved to have Montgomery around for longer, but the Maryland native proved exactly why his decision to go pro early was a risk worth taking.
