Vote now for Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week April 13-19

Make it 3-for-3 for softball players. The first three winners for the Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week poll for the spring season have come from the softball diamond. Airport’s Olivia Tilley was the winner for April 6-12 following victories by Ally Griffith of Whiteford and Milan’s Charleigh Meggison.

Tilley drew 8,147 votes. More: Final statistics for Monroe County Region girls basketball teams Second place went to Monroe soccer player Carmen Flatt with 6,576 and Dundee golfer Levi Evans was third with 1,663. Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week April 13-19 There were a total of 18,539 votes cast.

Here are this week’s candidates in alphabetical order: Zamir Austin, Monroe boys track and field : Recorded personal bests in the 100 and 200 meters and also won the long jump and high jump in a win over Ann Arbor Skyline. Luke Dulecki, New Boston Huron boys track and field : Won the four longest events of the day (800, 1,600, 3,200, 3,200 relay) to lead a victory over Airport.
