It was a patient yet impressive performance from Malott, who picked his shots throughout the fight as he methodically chipped away at Burns through the first two rounds.

When he finally saw his opening, Malott cracked Burns with a slick combination that put the Brazilian down. From there, Malott just went after Burns before landing another devastating right hook scored a vicious knockdown. The assault continued until the referee stopped the at 2:08 in the third round with Malott getting the victory.
