Bengals QB Joe Flacco makes more head-turning comments
Bengals QB Joe Flacco has some thoughts about the current NFL and where it's going.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco has been known to make an eyebrow-raising comment or two this offseason. Flacco made some headlines back in February for comments about the current state of the NFL product. Now, he's back in the spotlight for sounding not-thrilled about the NFLโs ever-expanding number of games per season.
"What happens when we go to 18? Are they going to want 20? Are they going to want 22?
We used to play 14 games before I was born,โ Flacco told Baker Machado of Front Office Sports (starts at 10:05 mark). โAt some point it has to stop. " At this point, 18 games feels inevitable, which Flacco says as much later in the interview by saying he thinks players will eventually agree to it.
But at the same time, he cautions that the wear and tear could mean for some poor playoff game quality. Regardless, thatโs a future-minded problem. Flacco signed back with the Bengals well before he needed to, opting to get back on the team rather than wait around and see if starting jobs opened up in the summer.
