UFC Winnipeg video: Gokhan Saricam knocks out Tanner Boser in debut
Tanner Boser's chin could only hold up to Gokhan Saricam's power for so long at UFC Winnipeg.
Gokhan Saricam delivered in his octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 273 with a thunderous finish of Tanner Boser. It was a high-paced and fun heavyweight scrap from the outset at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As it wore on, though, it became evident Boser (22-11-1 MMA, 5-6 UFC) was relying heavily on his durability to keep himself in the fight.
After rocking his opponent multiple times, Saricam (12-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) finally knocked Boser down, then put him unconscious with a flurry of ground-and-pound strikes for the knockout at the 4:43 mark of Round 2. He played up to the Canadian crowd, praising Boser for his effort. "All respect to Tanner ā he's much tougher than I thought.
He really came to fight," Saricam said in his post-fight interview with Paul Felder. "Don't be upset, Winnipeg. The guy who is going to knock me out is not born yet, so it's not Tanner's fault.
