As always, Bayern Munich’s Vincent Kompany ignores the hype around him
Kompany stays focused on his goals, not the noise.
MUNICH, GERMANY - APRIL 14: Vincent Kompany, head coach of FC Bayern Muenchen, during a press conference prior their UEFA Champions League 2025/26 quarter-final second leg match at Football Arena Munich on April 14, 2026 in Munich, Germany. But amid all that hype, Kompany knows not to get carried away. “I always say: don’t believe the hype, don’t believe the drama,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ). “When I arrived here at Bayern, I’d been promoted with 101 points, then relegated with 20 [with Burnley FC], then won the league here – two years ago I was the worst manager and today I’m the very best.
If you let yourself be influenced by all that noise, you’ll end up getting worse. It’s nicer this way, but I can live with criticism. It really doesn’t matter to me.
” Kompany has mentioned how little he cares about hype in previous press conferences but it is impressive how consistently he puts this mentality into practice.
