Kentucky loses out on a four-star edge target to Ole Miss

Four-star edge Keysan Taylor announced his commitment on Saturday, and picks Ole Miss over Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

Four-star edge defender Keysan Taylor out of Rockford, Illinois has committed to Ole Miss. Taylor picked the Rebels over the Kentucky Wildcats and Vanderbilt. Ole Miss was in the driver seat for a majority of the recruitment, but Will Stein and his staff tried their best to make up ground.

Taylor is listed at 6'3, 215-pounds, and he projects as a stand up edge rusher that plays with speed. When you watch is film, there is a lot to like and a great foundation set. He has active hands when rushing the passer, and he often overwhelms offensive tackles with his quickness.

Taylor uses the quickness to create a strong get off when the ball is snapped. You can tell high school tackles are frightened by his quickness and he uses that leverage to win on the inside shoulder. Taylor keeps his eyes up and makes football plays.

A natural feel for the game, Taylor is a two-way player for his high school and made plays at tight end on the offensive side of the ball. Although he will be an edge at the next level, you have to admire his athleticism to play both sides of the ball. Despite missing on Taylor, the Wildcats did pick up a big time recruit in four-star safety Tristin Hughes .
