UCLA lands Butler guard Azavier Robinson in the transfer portal

The UCLA Bruins have yet to go big game hunting this year in the transfer portal but Mick Cronin and the Bruins added another recruit with guard Azavier Robinson out of Butler committing to UCLA early Saturday morning . Cronin has brought in some players with multiple years of eligibility remaining, while that means the 2026-2027 UCLA team won’t have tons of experience, if the group can stay together, the Bruins could have a large contingency of their roster on the same timeline.

Robinson is from Indianapolis, Indiana and stayed local for one season of his collegiate career before jumping into the portal late last month. Robinson was a four-star recruit for Butler, with 247 Sports rating Robinson as the No. 98 player in the 2025 class .

Following a quiet year with the Bulldogs, Robinson’s stock dipped a little, with 247 Sports rating him as a three-star transfer and as the No. 214 player in the portal this offseason. Even though Robinson didn’t stand out for Butler this year, the young 6’2” guard shot 47% from the field and 43% from three.
