UCLA lands Butler guard Azavier Robinson in the transfer portal
The UCLA Bruins began the weekend by landing Azavier Robinson out of Butler. Robinson averaged 6.1 points as a freshman this past season.

5 assists. Robinson is the foruth UCLA portal addition of the season and is the second guard, joining Jaylen Petty from Texas Tech . Cronin has brought in some players with multiple years of eligibility remaining, while that means the 2026-2027 UCLA team won’t have tons of experience, if the group can stay together, the Bruins could have a large contingency of their roster on the same timeline.
Robinson is from Indianapolis, Indiana and stayed local for one season of his collegiate career before jumping into the portal late last month. Robinson was a four-star recruit for Butler, with 247 Sports rating Robinson as the No. 98 player in the 2025 class .
Following a quiet year with the Bulldogs, Robinson’s stock dipped a little, with 247 Sports rating him as a three-star transfer and as the No. 214 player in the portal this offseason. Even though Robinson didn’t stand out for Butler this year, the young 6’2” guard shot 47% from the field and 43% from three.
