Taking Offense: Cowboys eyeballing top WR may challenge defensive path

The Cowboys are present for Arizona St. receiver Jordyn Tyson's work out for NFL teams.

This was the week for the Dallas Cowboys to put the finishing touches on their draft board, but Arizona St. receiver Jordyn Tyson surprisingly drew their attention. Tyson, , a potential first-round pick who has an extensive injury history, looked to ease teams' concerns six days before the NFL Draft.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the Cowboys were among 18 teams in attendance for Tyson's personal workout. The former Sun Devil is eager to prove that his lingering hamstring injury, which sidelined him for three games last season, is no longer an issue. His workout and medical evaluation will have major ramifications for Tyson's draft hopes.

He previously overcame a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in 2022 and a broken collarbone in 2024. For Dallas, however, Tyson checks many of the boxes the front office covets at the wide receiver position. At 6-foot-2 and 203 pounds, he offers the prototypical size and versatility to line up anywhere on the field.

His ability to consistently separate at the line of scrimmage is easy to see on tape, and his advanced route-running skill set and aggressive run-blocking mentality help him stand out from other receivers in this draft. With 18 teams at his workout, the Cowboys aren't the only team with interest in the receiver. There are several receiver-needy teams ahead of Dallas who could take Tyson, making it unlikely he'll be available.
