Ohio State’s women’s lacrosse hopes to extend winning streak today against Maryland
The Buckeyes have won their last two games ahead of today’s regular season finale.
Ohio State’s women’s lacrosse team closes out their regular season schedule today when they host the third-ranked Maryland Terrapins. The Buckeyes enter this afternoon’s contest riding a two-game winning streak, while Maryland has lost their last two games, which are their first two losses of the season. Saturday’s contest will not only be Kids Day at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium, it is also Alumni Day.
Those who can’t attend the regular season finale can watch the game between the Buckeyes and Terrapins on BTN, starting at 4 p. m. Last Saturday Ohio State played their final road game of the regular season, a thrilling 11-10 win over USC in double overtime.
The Trojans jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first quarter before the Buckeyes reeled off five unanswered goals. Camryn Callaghan and Annie Hargraves combined for all five goals with Callaghan recording a hat trick in the first quarter. USC responded with two goals before Callaghan netted her fourth goal of the game, followed by Maddy Paz scoring just before halftime, as Ohio State took a 7-4 lead into the break.
The Trojans would dominate the third quarter, tying the score 7-7 after three unanswered goals. The Buckeyes would restore their three-goal lead with tallies from Hargraves, Zoe Coleman, and Kampbell Stone to give Ohio State a 10-7 lead with 3:42 left in regulation. The Buckeyes weren’t able to make the lead stick, as USC scored three goals in just over two minutes, tying the game on a Kaylee Fravert goal with 14 seconds left.
