Here are some notable players sitting out the Vanderbilt football spring game, including Sedrick Alexander and Junior Sherrill.

Several notable players will be sitting out Vanderbilt football's spring game. According to a program spokesperson, wide receiver Junior Sherrill, running back Sedrick Alexander, defensive lineman Yilanan Ouattara, defensive end Miles Capers, safeties CJ Heard and Ricardo Jones, tight end Cole Spence and cornerback Martel Hight will not be participating . All of those players are projected starters for the Commodores in 2026.

It was not immediately clear if these players were injured or simply sitting out. Last year, Diego Pavia sat out Vanderbilt's spring game to avoid further injury. There were a few other players who did not appear to be in uniform prior to the spring game, including safety Dontae Carter and cornerback Jaylin Lackey.

Vanderbilt's spring game will take place at 10 a. m. on April 18 at FirstBank Stadium.

There will be no TV or stream, though a radio broadcast is available. Aria Gerson covers Vanderbilt athletics for The Tennessean. Contact her atย  agerson@gannett.
