While Juan Soto is recovering from a calf injury, the Mets just lost another player. This time, Jorge Polanco is landing on the injured list with a problem of his own.
But why is Polanco landing on the IL? According to the Mets' announcement , Polanco is dealing with a right wrist issue, which is different than the Achilles problem that initially caused him to miss some time. Mets placed Jorge Polanco on IL with wrist issue "INF Jorge Polanco was placed on the 10-Day injured list, retroactive to April 15, with a right wrist contusion," the Mets announced.
"C Hayden Senger has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse. " Losing Polanco to the injured list was not a major surprise. He had been dealing with an Achilles issue before this wrist issue popped up on Friday, and this new problem made his likelihood of hitting the injured list all the more great.
