Yahoo Sports

Despite nearing 40 years of age, Stephen Curry has his eyes on 'multiple' seasons before retirement.

After a thrilling win against the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors couldn't build on their momentum, falling to the Phoenix Suns Friday. As a result, Golden State has been eliminated from playoff contention. Star guard Stephen Curry was held to just 17 points on 3-for-10 shooting from three-point range.

Following the game, the 38-year-old spoke about his plans beyond the 2025-26 season. When asked how many more years he may play in his career, Curry said , "Multiple for sure. " That said, Curry has only one year remaining on his current deal, becoming a free agent after the 2026-27 season.

While a contract extension may be on the horizon, it may depend on head coach Steve Kerr's future with the team. Additionally, the Warriors are likely to wait for Draymond Green to either opt-in or opt-out of his player option. Either way, the Golden State front office will have a difficult offseason to navigate.
