They were beating almost every team in their path, but they had a mediocre first half, which meant they had to fight through the Play-In Tournament for a spot in the Playoffs. Unfortunately, they fell at the final hurdle. They lost in a 121-90 blowout to the Orlando Magic .

However, LaMelo Ball and the rest of the Hornets believe they should be proud of what they achieved this season. LaMelo Ball vows to learn from their Play-In run this season The Hornets are often cited as one of the teams on the lower end of the league. That is evidenced by their 10-year postseason drought, but it looked possible this season.

Unfortunately, they could not get past their slow start. Head coach Charles Lee and the Hornets proved that they belonged in the top part of the league with their performance in the second half of the season. This should be an important lesson for the team as they keep developing.
