Coppell won 3-1. (Chitose Suzuki/The Dallas Morning News) Senior Jackson Floren showed out in Coppell ’s 3-0 win over Flower Mound Friday night, which avenged Tuesday’s midweek loss. The senior right-handed pitcher threw a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts against Flower Mound to help move his team into fourth place tied with Flower Mound Marcus , whom they play next week.

“I feel like every pitch was working,” Floren said. “The slider was really well on two-strike counts. I could throw that curveball anytime I wanted, for a strike, and the changeup was especially good to the lefties late in counts.

” Floren’s 10th strikeout came during the final frame with two runners on. The Navarro commit also had two other innings where he kept two runners on-base unscathed. Floren’s 8th strikeout of the night headed to the T7.
