Suns injury update. Mark Williams out, Grayson Allen in vs Warriors
Phoenix Suns big Mark Williams missed 15 games late in the regular season with a left foot third metatarsal stress reaction.
Phoenix Suns starting center Mark Williams has been downgraded from questionable to out for the April 17 Play-In Tournament game against the Golden State Warriors . Suns coach Jordan Ott said Williams’ left foot flared up early in the second half of Tuesday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in the 7-8 play in game. Williams finished with four points in 22 minutes as Ott said the foot setback factored in the 7-footer not playing in the fourth quarter.
“Just flared up,” Ott said before Friday’s game. “Now we’re just waiting for the inflammation to calm down. ” Grayson Allen (left hamstring strain) has been upgraded from questionable to available after missing Phoenix's last two games.
Allen is averaging a career-high 16. 5 points in 51 games in his third season with the Suns. Williams has played in five of Phoenix’s last seven games after missing 15 consecutive games with left foot third metatarsal stress reaction.
Williams played a career-high 60 games in the regular season in his first season in Phoenix after playing a total of 106 games in three seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. Starting 55 games, also a career best, Williams averaged 11. 6 points on 64.
