Wright State will launch national search for new AD
Apr. 17—Wright State will start the process of finding a new athletic director when an eight-member search committee meets Monday, April 20. That announcement came Friday, April 17, five days after news broke that Joylynn Brown was no longer the school's AD.
"Athletics is central to our institutional mission and identity," Wright State University President Sue Edwards said in a press release. "As we begin our search, we are committed to finding a leader who champions the success of our student-athletes, both on and off the field, elevates our athletics programs on the national stage, and builds on a legacy of excellence that is a source of pride for our university, our alumni, and the communities we serve. " The search committee includes: —Co-chair Andy Platt, former Wright State student athlete and current member of the university's Board of Trustees.
—Co-chair Greg Sample, executive vice president and chief operating officer. —Maigan Glass, assistant athletics director for compliance. —Tom Hazelbaker, senior lecturer, accountancy, and faculty athletics representative.
—Jahi McDonald, president, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. —Ellen Miller, member, Board of Trustees. —Clint Sargent, head coach, men's basketball.
—Susan Schaurer, vice president for enrollment management. Wright State hopes to find a new AD by the fall. Robert Ray will serve as interim AD.
