Rutgers has found its center. Christian Gurdak, a former four-star prospect who spent his freshman season at Virginia Tech last winter, has signed with the Scarlet Knights , multiple people with knowledge of the situation told NJ. com.

The 6-foot-10, 260-pounder is the third commitment Rutgers has received this offseason, joining Central Connecticut State forward Darin Smith and Dominican guard Lewis Duarte , but he is the most significant due to the position he plays.
He will replace two-year starter Emmanuel Ogbole, who struggled mightily after succeeding star Cliff Omoruyi. Rising sophomore Gevonte Ware is the only other center currently on the roster. The Scarlet Knights are expected to target at least one more transfer at the position.
Gurdak is the 24th-ranked center and 310th-ranked prospect overall on the market according to Evan Miya , while 247Sports ranks him a four-star transfer that is the 19th-best center and 143rd best prospect in the portal. Gurdak averaged 5. 6 points on 63.
