In a monumental announcement made by the Indiana Fever on April 17, the franchise revealed that they have agreed to a WNBA-record-setting four-year contract extension with cornerstone power forward Aliyah Boston, giving the three-time league All-Star the richest total salary in league history to date. Per ESPN's Alexa Philippou , the deal is worth $6. 3 million in total, with Boston making $1 million this upcoming season and then earning the supermax (accounting for 20% of the team's total salary cap) from 2027 to 2029.

In Boston's case, she was made eligible for a max extension in her fourth year after making the All-WNBA second team in 2025.
