Winters Grady, former Michigan wing, announces transfer destination

Winters Grady has found a new home in the Big Ten. Grady, who spent his freshman season at Michigan, announced he’s transferring to Minnesota in a social media post on Friday. Grady’s commitment to the Golden Gophers comes a couple days after he took a visit to Minnesota and nine days after he became the first Wolverine from the national title team to enter the transfer portal .

1 rebounds in six minutes. He last played on Jan. 2 against USC before he made the decision to sit out the rest of the season because of a lingering foot issue that he’s been battling since his sophomore year of high school.

He's expected to apply for a medical redshirt, which will give him four seasons of eligibility. Grady, a former a top-100 prospect and four-star recruit out of California’s Prolific Prep, is joining a Minnesota team that went 15-18 overall, finished 11th in the 18-team Big Ten with an 8-12 mark and was decimated by injuries in coach Niko Medved’s first season. Grady is the first of two Wolverines who have entered the transfer portal to announce his transfer destination.
