They were involved in a few big trades that were going to shake up the roster. They parted ways with Marcus Semien, sending him to the New York Mets for Brandon Nimmo. They also traded five prospects to the Washington Nationals in exchange for MacKenzie Gore.
Both of those trades have paid off so far as Gore holds a 2-1 record with a 3. 00 ERA, and Nimmo leads the team in batting average.
