Roman Reigns adds bold stipulation to CM Punk WrestleMania match
Roman Reigns is ready to make a statement. As WWE gears up for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, the spotlight has already shifted beyond the ring, with superstars flooding social media and fully embracing the energy of WrestleMania weekend festivities. However, one match that seems to remain all business as it comes to Allegiant Stadium this weekend is WWE’s Heavyweight Championship match between Reigns and champion CM Punk .

The war of words between Reigns and Punk would not stop on television either, as both stars have taken shots at each other through podcasts and social media clips . While it’s nothing new for WWE stars to hint at stepping away only to resurface down the line, Reigns finds himself in a far more intriguing situation. With his current deal set to expire in May 2026, Reigns could seriously find himself stepping away from the business for a year or two, as many major stars have done prior. Still, many fans are brushing it off as gamesmanship from Reigns, viewing his comments as both a bluff and a possible hint at how things could unfold.
The belief among some is that stepping away isn’t a realistic option, especially given his status as one of WWE’s highest-paid stars. Of course, considering Reigns’ perspective on where WWE currently sits under its partnership with TKO Group Holdings, his comments carry a bit more weight than usual. That’s especially true with outside opportunities looming, as he comes off a featured role in the upcoming Street Fighter film.
