NFL draft analyst says Ty Simpson to land with Jets at No. 16.
The New York Jets are considering taking Ty Simpson in the first round of the draft.
In the latest mock draft by an NFL draft analyst, Chad Reuter on NFL. com, Ty Simpson will go in the middle of the first round to the New York Jets at No. 16.
The Jets are very high on Simpson, but some wondered if they would be bold enough to take him in the first round next week, and according to Reuter, it looks like they are. "Simpson's inconsistency during his only year as a starter in college is well-documented. However, the Jets might as well take a chance on addressing their need for a long-term answer at quarterback.
They can still find good value at other positions with four of the top 50 picks, including Nos. 33 and No. 44 overall in Round 2.
" If the Jets don't take him early, the plan, according to some, was to grab him early in the second round with the No. 33 pick of the draft. But many feel Simpson won't be there long in the first round.
