Where do things stand with Jonathan Greenard and the Vikings?
There hasn't been much noise surrounding the Minnesota Vikings and Jonathan Greenard of late, but a resolution could come during the draft.
Rumors have quieted surrounding Minnesota Vikings EDGE rusher Jonathan Greenard recently. The 2024 Pro Bowler wants a new deal, but it appears the Vikings don't want to accommodate him. Last month, Adam Schefter reported the Vikings were " open " to trading Greenard.
But he still remains on the team. However, could a draft-night trade make sense? Minnesota could look to potentially move up the board if someone like Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love or Ohio State safety Caleb Downs begins to slide.
Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports recently wrote that what interim GM Rob Brzezinski could make another big offseason splash by dealing Greenard during the draft. Executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski is serving as interim GM, and he will continue to do so through the draft. Only then will a full search begin.
But Brzezinski has made several big calls this offseason, including signing Murray and exercising Jordan Addison's fifth-year option. He also has big calls to make. Obviously the draft will be crucial, but there's also the potential for a Jonathan Greenard deal.
