The Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds are both off to great starts this year, entering play on Friday tied for first in the NL Central at 11-8.

The Reds' start is even more impressive given that they've gotten no production from their third baseman, former Pirates star Ke'Bryan Hayes. Pittsburgh traded Hayes to Cincinnati last July after six seasons with the Pirates. Despite being a good defender, his bat declined dramatically during his last two seasons in Pittsburgh, motivating the Pirates to move on.

Hayes hit better for the Reds down the stretch last year, but remained below average. This year has been even worse for the two-time Gold Glover, who's off to a disastrous start at the plate . Ke'Bryan Hayes hasn't gotten a hit in 2 weeks, and is the only every day hitter left without an RBI pic.
