On Friday, April 17, TMZ reported that the former Los Angeles Angels player passed away after suffering a medical emergency at his home in Newport Beach, California. “The Angels organization is mourning the loss of one of our franchise’s most beloved icons, Garret Anderson,” Angels owner Arte Moreno told MLB.

Moreno went on to describe Anderson as “a cornerstone” of the Angels organization and that “his stoic presence in the outfield and our clubhouse elevated the Angels into an era of continued success, highlighted by the 2002 World Series championship. ” Newscom/Mega Agency “Garret will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Angels fans for his professionalism, class, and loyalty throughout his career and beyond,” Moreno continued.
“His admiration and respect for the game was immeasurable. We extend our deepest condolences to Garret’s wife Teresa, daughters Brianne and Bailey, son Garret ‘Trey’ Anderson III, and his entire family. ” Anderson played for the Angels for 15 seasons, as well as one season with the Braves and one season with the Dodgers.
In 2016 he was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame. “I was a good teammate,” he said at the time, per MLB. com.
