The San Diego Padres made a blockbuster deal at the trade deadline last year, and despite receiving some criticism for giving up their top prospect for a reliever, Mason Miller has been proving it a worthwhile trade.

Now in a closer role for the Padres this season, Miller has been pitching as well as anyone has ever pitched in MLB history. He's putting together some truly ridiculous performances this season. As Sarah Langs shared on Twitter/x , Miller's absurd strikeout rates this season have made MLB history; no other pitcher has done so before.

And to make it even more absurd, he's accomplished this feat three times when no other pitcher has ever done this before. Mason Miller accomplishes feat never done before in MLB history 3 times "There have been 3 instances in MLB history of a pitcher striking out at least 75% of the batters he faced over a span of 9 appearances (min 20 faced)... They're all by Mason Miller!!

" Langs shared. Just accomplishing this feat once would be an incredible accomplishment for any pitcher. Striking out 75% of the batters a pitcher faces would be all-time great numbers.
