High school softball, baseball and soccer teams were in action.
SOFTBALL Notre Dame 14, Bay Port 10 SUAMICO - Addyson Simpson was 4-for-5 with five RBIs to help lead the Tritons past the Pirates. Notre Dame had taken a 3-1 lead after two innings, but Bay Port answered with six in the third. Notre Dame chipped away at its deficit and trailed 8-5 after four, 10-8 after five and 10-9 after six before scoring five times in the seventh to earn the Fox River Classic Conference win.
Also leading the Tritons offense were Jaedyn Mueller, Brynn Broeckman and Olivia Waldrop with three hits each, while Stella Starry and Ella Nowak added two hits each. Starry and Nowak also had doubles, while Waldrop had a triple. Ashwaubenon 9, Manitowoc 6 MANITOWOC - The Jaguars built an early five-run lead and held off the Ships to earn the Fox River Classic Conference win.
Ashwaubenon scored four in the first and one in the third, but Manitowoc countered with three in the fourth. Both teams scored a run in the sixth before the Jaguars added three in the seventh. The Ships closed out the scoring with two in the bottom of the inning.
Lexi Bernath, Aubrey House, Grace Aichele, Addison Allen and Lauren Seeling all had two hits for Ashwaubenon. One of Bernath’s hits was a home run, while one of Aichele’s was a triple. Allison Seidl had two hits with a double and three RBIs to lead Manitowoc.
