The 28-year-old has made 27 appearances across all competitions this term and scored three goals, with one assist. With four league matches remaining, the Oxford boss said it was probable Placheta will not play again this season.

"We've lost Shemmy which is a shame," Bloomfield told BBC Radio Oxford. "He just felt his hamstring in the warm-up on Wednesday. So I doubt we'll see him again this season.

" Since arriving at the Kassam on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, Placheta has played 60 games and made 10 goal contributions. His last Championship start came in February in a 3-0 home defeat by Norwich City. The U's are currently 22nd in the Championship table, two points below West Bromwich Albion, and are away to Derby County on Saturday.
