A sharpshooting guard won't be taking his visit to Kentucky

Yahoo Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats have hosted a number of players from the transfer portal, but one guard won't be making the trip to Lexington now.

Coach Mark Pope has brought in several of the top transfer portal players to visit the Kentucky Wildcats . So far, only Zoom Diallo has committed, but they continue to work on changing that. They are in the market for guards who can score, and need some shooters like Cruz Davis , who was scheduled to visit Lexington.

That visit won't happen now. Davis had scheduled several visits, including to Kentucky, but Texas Tech was on his list as well. He would wind up committing to the Red Raiders during that visit, and will no longer take the rest of the trips he set.

Kentucky is in need of three-point shooters, and Davis has a career 38% rate from deep. The West Virginia product averaged 20 points per game last season on the way to winning the CAA Player of the Year award. He also dished out 4 assists per contest.

Pope and Kentucky will move on to other guard prospects now. Alex Wilkins and Jalen Cox both visited this week, and Terrence Brown is schedule to be in town on Friday. Landing one of them would certainly be another much-needed win.
