Ames girls soccer player Natalie Westort and Gilbert boys golfer Johnathan Bouska are the Ames Tribune's Athlete of the Week winners.

Ames girls soccer player Natalie Westort and Gilbert boys golfer Johnathan Bouska were voted the Ames Tribune's female and male Athlete of the Week winners for the week of April 5-11. Westort won female Athlete of the Week with 39% of the vote. She had a busy opening week for the Ames soccer team.

Westort scored Ames' only goal during its 1-1 tie with 2A No. 11 Pella to open the season on April 6. She added two more goals during the Little Cyclones' 4-0 victory at Fort Dodge on April 10.

Bouska claimed male Athlete of the Week honors with 49% of the vote. He earned medalist honors for the Gilbert golf team during a 294-315 dual loss to Adel-Desoto-Minburn on April 6 at the Ames Golf and Country Club. Bouska shot a 3-under score of 67 during the 18-hole round to take first on a cold and windy day.
