Arizona resort completes $400,000 renovation to its golf course
Players should notice fresh sand and better turf at Sedona Golf Resort
Sedona Golf Resort in Arizona recently completed a $400,000 enhancement project that took four months and was focused on bunker renovation and irrigation upgrades to its golf course. The course, designed by Gary Panks and opened in 1988, plays alongside the red rocks that make the region famous. Working with Pro Turf International, the resort rebuilt 39 greenside bunkers and eliminated five and a half others.
The rebuilt bunkers were filled with 1,200 tons of new off-white sand. Crews also replaced the mainline irrigation pipes on several holes and reconfigured the irrigation on several other holes and the range. โThe irrigation system upgrades will allow us to have more consistent irrigation cycles each night, which ultimately supports turf health to provide firmer and faster conditions,โ Sedona Golf Resort general manager Jeremy Hayman said in a media release announcing completion of the project.
โBetween the refreshed bunkers and improved conditions, golfers will definitely notice the enhancements. โ The resort is owned by the Arizona Hideaway Collection and managed by Troon. This article originally appeared on Golfweek: Sedona Golf Resort finishes $400,000 renovation of bunkers, irrigation
