The 24-year-old was forced off during the side's 2-1 loss to Sheffield United on Saturday with the same quad injury that saw him miss out earlier in the season. "It's the same quad, just the opposite side of the muscle," Jakirovic told BBC Radio Hull.

"Six weeks is the prediction so he's off until the end of the season. "[It's] a big blow because Cody played good, especially when we lost [Ryan] Giles and Matty Jacob. " Left-back Giles (hamstring) and winger Yu Hirakawa (ankle) are likely to feature for the side in their upcoming game against Birmingham City on Saturday (15:00 BST) after rejoining training.

Japan international Hirakawa was not expected to make a return this season following surgery on his ankle but Jakirovic is positive both players will pick up minutes on the weekend. "It's not easy to put a player back in immediately because sometimes you need to find rhythm but on the other side, we don't have any time," Jakirovic added. "Maybe we need to take risks so I will decide tomorrow.

" Winger Lewis Koumas and midfielder Toby Collyer will also be available as they make their return to training following hamstring injuries. Midfielder Elliot Matazo is set to make a surprise comeback after a quad injury put doubts on his season . He made an appearance for the under-21s side alongside fellow midfielder Darko Gyabi, who was on the bench for the defeat by the Blades, and left-back Jacob (knee).
