Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer scored back-to-back half-centuries as Punjab Kings beat Mumbai Indians by seven wickets with 21 balls to spare at the Wankhede Stadium. The duo stitched a match-winning 139-run partnership for the third wicket, guiding PBKS to 198/3 in just 16. 3 overs.
Mumbai Indians posted 195/6 after being asked to bat first. Quinton de Kock led the charge with a brilliant 112* off 60 balls, while Naman Dhir added 50 off 31 balls. โ IPL (@IPL) MI had a poor start, slipping to 12/2 early after Arshdeep Singh struck twice.
But De Kock steadied the innings and later accelerated to reach his century. Chasing 196, PBKS lost Priyansh Arya (15) and Cooper Connolly (17) early. AM Ghazanfar picked up both wickets, giving Mumbai Indians a brief chance to get back into the game.
Prabhsimran and Iyer then took charge and completely dominated the chase. Prabhsimran remained unbeaten on 80 off 39 balls, while Iyer scored 66 off 35 balls. Both continued their strong form after scoring fifties in the previous match as well.
