It sounds like a long shot.
Bears’ Maxx Crosby trade rumors absolutely shut down by Chicago insider originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . A lot of rumors suggested that the Chicago Bears have had interest in star edge rusher Maxx Crosby.
Crosby was traded to the Baltimore Ravens in what would have been one of the biggest deals of the offseason, but the Ravens backed out of the trade, sending him back to the Las Vegas Raiders . After that failed trade, some believed that the Bears were willing to send the Raiders two first-round picks as well. However, according to the latest report, that was never the case.
While that doesn't mean there wasn't interest in trading for Crosby, there were no two first-round picks on the table for the Raiders to take. “While the Bears were linked to that Crosby storyline for weeks, with speculation swirling that they, too, had offered Las Vegas a pair of first-round picks, that wasn’t the case, a league source told The Athletic,” Dan Wiederer wrote . If the Raiders were offered two first-round picks again for Crosby right now, it seems fair to suggest that they would take the deal.
Las Vegas made a lot of interesting moves in the early stages of free agency, with many thinking it did so because it expected Crosby not to be on the books. While the situation seems somewhat settled out in Las Vegas, it’s certainly possible that the Bears could get in the mix once again if they believe they need a player of his caliber.
