Le-Win Panthers put 17 runs on the board in a win against Dakota
LENA, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Lena-Winslow Panthers were right at home Thursday evening though they were the visiting team in their NUIC baseball game against Dakota. That’s because the game was supposed to be played at Dakota, but it was moved to Lena because Dakota’s field wasn’t playable due to all of the rain this week.
So, the Panthers, batting first in this game, got a big early jump scoring five runs in the first inning. The Panthers erupted for six more runs in the fourth inning, and they never let up. Aiden Wild drove in four runs for the Panthers while reaching base four times.
He doubled and walked three times. Freshman Dylan Madigan, batting at the bottom of Le-Win’s lineup, had three hits, and he drove in three runs. Koby Kearns pitched three innings allowing two runs to earn the win.
Dakota had ten hits. Brix Woker had two, and he drove in three runs. Brayden Larson, Brookie Goode and Liam Burke all had two hits.
Lena-Winslow’s record is now 11-1, 4-0. Dakota’s record is 5-4, 2-2. Watch the media player for highlights.
