Would the Jets take a swing at this QB?

Jets among teams that could be interested in trading for former first-round quarterback originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . With the NFL Draft nearly here, it seems like the New York Jets will be focused on any way to improve their roster.

On the surface, we all know what the Jets need, and it's a quarterback. However, that doesn't mean the Jets are going to force the issue and use one of their top picks on drafting a quarterback that they might not love. The last thing the Jets should do is force the issue here, as there will be plenty of time for them to land a quarterback.

There are other ways for the Jets to bring in a quarterback with potential, and the latest name suggested was Anthony Richardson. Richardson is a quarterback who has more tools than anybody in this game, but the question about him is whether he can put them all together in an actual game. “Now the Colts have seven draft picks: a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and two seventh-rounders.

That’s a perfectly okay number, but the value on those picks just isn’t there. If they could package Richardson and a later-round pick or two, and trade those to a team that could use backup quarterback depth for a third or fourth round pick, they’d be (relatively) back in business,” Jack Beckman of FanSided wrote . Most fans would probably think this is similar to the Jets taking a chance on Justin Fields a year ago, which obviously didn't work out well for anybody, but I don't think it's similar in that regard.
