The Crowder College baseball team took advantage of several miscues by the Three Rivers College Raiders for a 4-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday at Three Rivers. The game was scoreless through the first two innings until the Roughriders got on the board with a single run in the top of the third. Maddox Morrison advanced to second base on a Rex Tedder wild pitch, made it to third on another Tedder miscue and scored on a third wild pitch.

Crowder (33-15) extended its lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth frame when Ryan Stalony scored on an error after a Will Beaudoin double to center field. Three Rivers made it a 2-1 game in the bottom of the fourth when Kayson Becker scored on a Dax Webb line drive to left field after three straight Raiders singles. The Raiders (24-22) then loaded the bases with no outs after Jacob Baller drew a walk.

John Poole hit into a double play but not before Trey Gardner tied the game at 2-2. Crowder got out of the inning when Griffin Duvall popped out to center fielder Spencer Mounce. After two scoreless frames, the Roughriders regained the lead with a pair of scores in the top of the seventh.

For the second time in the game, Morrison scooted home on a wild pitch to make it 3-2. Mounce drove in Rylan Michel with a line drive single to center to increase Crowderโ€™s lead to 4-2. Stalony finished 2 for 3 with a run, and Stratton went 2 for 4.

Seth Carlson went the distance for Crowder, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out four and walking two in seven innings. Becker was 2 for 3 with a run for the Raiders. Tedder struck out five and walked one in six innings of work.
