David Feherty blasts LIV Golf rumors as 'nonsense' on Mexico City stream

LIV Golf Mexico City teed off as scheduled and David Feherty began the broadcast by chastising those reporting rumors of LIV's possible demise.

The LIV Golf Mexico City tournament teed off as scheduled on Thursday, April 16, and the streaming broadcast began with a not-so-subtle jab at all of the rumors surrounding the golf circuit's imminent demise in recent days. Longtime golf commentator David Feherty and his broadcast partner Arlo White blasted the reports surrounding LIV Golf's uncertain future and possible shutdown, with Feherty calling it "absolute nonsense" while questioning the reliability of certain reporters covering the sport. White said the rumors were "greatly exaggerated.

" Though LIV Golf's long-term viability remains in doubt due to shifts in the strategic priorities of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, LIV Golf CEO Scot O'Neil reportedly wrote in an email to employees on Wednesday that the league is moving forward "full throttle" and "continuing as planned" with its 2026 schedule.
