Nico Hoerner makes Cubs history not done in 91 years originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . Nico Hoerner had himself a special ballgame Wednesday night as the Chicago Cubs took on the Philadelphia Phillies .

Batting leadoff, Hoerner homered, drove in five runs and stole a base. Yes, that's a rare combination -- he's only the second Cubs leadoff hitter to ever do that, according to @JayHayKid . The first?

It was 91 years ago when Augie Galan did it in 1935. Nico Hoerner is the 2nd player in Cubs franchise history and the first in 91 years to have a HR, SB and 5+ RBI out of the leadoff spot -- joining Augie Galan on Sept. 12, 1935.
